Ben Revere and David Price both joined the Toronto Blue Jays less than a month ago, but it looks like they’re quickly becoming good friends.

We suppose that’s what happens when you make an incredible leaping catch to bail out your pitcher on his birthday.

Price celebrated his 30th birthday Wednesday night by taking the mound against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park. In the bottom of the third inning, though, Rangers batter Delino DeShields smacked a deep fly ball to left field that looked like trouble.

But Revere had other plans.

The Blue Jays outfielder timed his jump perfectly, holding onto the ball despite crashing into the left field scoreboard.

MLB’s Twitter account, recognizing what day it was, suggested Revere’s amazing grab might have been a special present for Price. The All-Star pitcher certainly agreed.

Apparently, the love goes both ways.

To top it all off, Toronto mashed its way to a 12-4 win to give Price his 13th victory of the season. Not a bad birthday at all.
