Ciara’s visit to Seattle Seahawks training camp earlier this month produced some adorable photos of the interaction between the singer’s son, Future Zahir, and her boyfriend, quarterback Russell Wilson.
Future Zahir’s father, rapper Future, was not a fan, though, which he made clear in series of tweets.
Ciara was asked about the situation Wednesday in an interview with “CBS This Morning,” and she didn’t seem to care much for Future’s opinion.
“Wouldn’t you want someone to love on your child, or love on the child that you’re speaking about?” Ciara said, via People.com.
Ciara said she reached out to the rapper, who also is her ex-fiancé, but he “didn’t want to talk to” her.
“To speak on such a sensitive and real situation when you don’t have all the facts, that to me is the frustrating part of it all because again, us adults will be fine, but my son has to grow up one day and he has to see,” Ciara said. “We didn’t get to talk, so that was that.”
