Reports emerged Friday that Colin Kaepernick got into a fight with Aldon Smith during a team practice, and the incident might have led to the linebacker’s arrest. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback, however, denied the rumors.

There also was a report that claimed Smith vandalized Kaepernick’s Mercedes after the alleged altercation. But when asked about the report, the 27-year-old quarterback made it pretty clear the story was false.

“I don’t drive a Mercedes, let’s put it that way,” Kaepernick told San Jose Mercury News writer Cam Inman.

TMZ also reported a fight took place but did not mention anything about vandalism of Kaepernick’s car.

Teammate Anquan Boldin was asked about the TMZ report, which he shot down as false.

“There was no fight out here,” Boldin said. “I don’t know where that comes from.”

He added: “You all listen to TMZ? Boy.”

No matter what, Smith is gone regardless of the story’s validity. The team released him Friday after he was arrested for an alleged hit-and-run involving DUI and vandalism charges.
