The NBA lost an icon Thursday when the legendary Darryl Dawkins passed away following a heart attack.

While “Chocolate Thunder” — the fifth overall selection to the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1975 NBA Draft — was a solid all-around center, the man from planet LoveTron was best known for his rim-shattering dunks.

One announcer remarks at how Dawkins, ever the showman, “has 17 different nicknames for his slam dunks.”

Nos. 15 and 7 are two of our favorites — showing off Dawkins’ freakish length and power. His rim-shattering dunks can be found in the top five, while the top two are just too great to even try to describe.

Dawkins retired from the NBA in 1989 with 8,733 points, 4,432 rebounds and 1,023 blocks.
