Many New England Patriots fans have become disenchanted with ESPN over how the network has handled Deflategate.

Perhaps ESPN mended some fences Wednesday night when they apologized to the Patriots for twice citing a false report in recent weeks.

One day before the Patriots lost to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII, the Boston Herald reported the Patriots had videotaped the St. Louis Rams’ walk-through before Super Bowl XXXVI. The Herald retracted that story three months later, saying it was false and “no tape of the walk-through ever existed.”

The Patriots tweeted ESPN’s apology Thursday morning.
