BOSTON — The New York Yankees are at Fenway Park for the last time in 2015, and Hanley Ramirez might miss out on all the fun.
The Boston Red Sox left fielder will be on the bench Monday for the fourth consecutive game with what interim manager Torey Lovullo described as “shoulder fatigue.” Ramirez is not expected to hit the disabled list, but Lovullo didn’t have a timeline for the slugger’s return.
Jackie Bradley Jr. will take over for Ramirez in left and bat ninth. Travis Shaw is back at first base and will bat fifth after the Red Sox’s interleague series this weekend against the New York Mets, in which regular designated hitter David Ortiz played the field in two of three games. Ryan Hanigan will start behind the plate over Blake Swihart and bat eighth.
Eduardo Rodriguez is on the mound for Boston after the team skipped his start Saturday. Rodriguez was ready to go then, but he’s approaching his innings limits. The rookie left-hander has pitched 140 2/3 innings this season, and his high is 145.
Rodriguez has had some success against the Yankees this season, though, allowing just two earned runs in both of his starts, a win and a loss, for a 2.70 ERA.
