As the news of John Farrell’s Stage 1 lymphoma made its way around Fenway Park and throughout the country, reaction and support started flowing in for the Boston Red Sox manager.

That conversation carried over to “Red Sox Gameday Live,” where NESN’s Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy discussed the impact of the news.

“It is absolutely stunning when you hear something like that and it makes you forget about everything else,” Remy said before the Red Sox hosted the Seattle Mariners on Friday. “Certainly, John Farrell our thoughts and prayers are with him. Fortunately, the prognosis is very good for Farrell. … Stunning news at the ballpark today.

“We’ve heard it many times with players in the past — Jon Lester, for example. It’s always very difficult to take and that’s really the feeling around the ballpark today.”
