John Daly Fires Club Into Lake After Disastrous Hole At PGA Championship

John Daly was having a nice little PGA Championship — until he reached the par-3 seventh hole Friday.

Daly — who donned the red, white and blue for his first round Thursday — fired a respectable 1-over 73 to open the tournament, then did well through six holes in the second round.

That’s when things spiraled out of control, as Daly hit three balls in the water on his way to a 10. Not good.

Apparently Daly figured the club should join the balls, as he chucked it into Lake Michigan right along the course at Whistling Straits.

Even better, this kid on a boat was able to fish out the club.

If Daly had stayed at 1 over, he would have been tied for 62nd — at least for the time being. However, the seven-shot drop sent him plummeting down the leaderboard all the way to a tie for 131st and six shots off the projected cut line, basically ruining his entire tournament.

At least he looked good doing it.
