The NFL and Tom Brady have been going at it for months, and it’s U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman’s job to settle the score. According to one legal expert, the latest round didn’t go too well for the league.

Lawyer and special investigator John Dowd — who led Major League Baseball’s investigation into Pete Rose betting on baseball — joined “NESN Sports Today” to break down Wednesday’s court appearance in New York that saw Berman poke holes in Roger Goodell’s reasoning for Brady’s four-game suspension.

“(Berman) really fried them (Wednesday),” Dowd told host Adam Pellerin. “He’s doing a superb job. He’s getting right down to it and exposing their case, and I think the judge has figured this thing out.”

Check out the video above to hear more from Dowd on Wednesday’s events and what the future holds for Brady and the New England Patriots.
