A familiar face came back to Gillette Stadium on Friday.
The New England Patriots signed defensive tackle Casey Walker, the team announced. Walker spent part of the 2014 season on the Patriots’ active roster and practice squad. He played five games, recording 10 tackles and a sack.
Walker was released by the Baltimore Ravens on Aug. 5. He originally came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma with the Carolina Panthers in 2013. The Ravens signed Walker off the Patriots’ practice squad Nov. 22.
The Patriots opened a spot on their 90-man roster Wednesday when they waived injured running back Tyler Gaffney. He cleared waivers and reverted to injured reserve.
