FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots shook up their 90-man roster Monday, signing running back Tony Creecy and tight end Logan Stokes and releasing linebacker Chris White and tight end Mason Brodine to make room for the newcomers.
Creecy went undrafted out of North Carolina State and worked out for the Patriots in May. He ran for 1,265 yards and nine touchdowns in four years with the Wolfpack, and he also caught 75 passes for 428 yards and six touchdowns.
Stokes previously signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent June 11 and was released June 18. He caught one pass for 3 yards in two years at LSU.
White spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons with the Patriots as a special-teamer. He played in 13 regular-season games last year and all three playoff games. He was on the Patriots’ physically unable to perform list.
Brodine signed with the Patriots on Aug. 6. He previously played with the Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams.
The Patriots signed quarterback Ryan Lindley and released Matt Flynn earlier Monday. They also reportedly traded rookie linebacker Matt Wells to the Chicago Bears for guard Ryan Groy.
