FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots went into overtime preparing for their joint practices in West Virginia with the New Orleans Saints.

The Patriots practiced for over two hours in 91-degree heat, and then head coach Bill Belichick made the team run sprints on the hill behind their practice field.

Veteran cornerback Tarell Brown, who sat out Thursday night’s preseason opener, looks ready to go against the Saints. He had two interceptions in practice, mostly working in the slot. He picked off Jimmy Garoppolo on a pass that bounced off receiver Danny Amendola’s hands. He also had an interception off Tom Brady that safety Duron Harmon deflected.

— Brady was 18 of 29 with the interception in 11-on-11 drills.

— Garoppolo was 9 of 12 with the pick in 11-on-11 drills.

— Third-string quarterback Ryan Lindley didn’t attempt a single pass in team drills.

— Duron Harmon spent most of practice at free safety, allowing Devin McCourty to roam around the secondary.

— Running back Brandon Bolden showed off his ability to take on third-down responsibilities with a nice catch from Garoppolo on wheel route over linebacker Eric Martin.

— Starting left tackle Nate Solder was a full participant in practice after sitting out for the last week. He missed Thursday night’s game.

— Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano was in attendance at practice. He has a close relationship with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

— Safety Patrick Chung had a pass breakup over tight end Michael Hoomanawanui on a pass from Brady.

— Rookie guard Tre’ Jackson was carted off the field with what appeared to be a hip or lower back injury. It was a bizarre scene as he fell to the ground after individual drills. Jackson’s departure also could have been related to the heat.

— Linebackers Dekoda Watson and Eric Martin, running back James White, offensive linemen Nate Solder and Marcus Cannon, and cornerback Logan Ryan were back at practice.

— Cornerback Tarell Brown also practiced after leaving the field midway through Saturday’s session.

— Wide receivers Julian Edelman and Aaron Dobson, tight end Scott Chandler, running back Travaris Cadet, and offensive linemen Bryan Stork and Caylin Hauptmann practiced on a limited basis, working on conditioning as the team practiced.

— Wide receiver Brandon LaFell; cornerback Darryl Roberts; linebacker Dane Fletcher; offensive lineman Ryan Wendell; defensive linemen Rufus Johnson, Joe Vellano, Chris Jones and Trey Flowers; and tight end Jake Bequette remained out of practice.
