Peyton Manning Brushes Off Tom Brady Emails, Got Text From Patriots QB

Peyton Manning knows a thing or two about being made fun of.

The Denver Broncos quarterback supplies constant fodder and material for Internet jokesters, with everything from his seemingly endless amount of commercials to his propensity to shrivel in the biggest of games.

However, it was still at least a little bit awkward when some of Tom Brady’s personal emails were released last week, including one where Brady commented on what’s left of Manning’s career.

In an email with his father, Brady said “I’ve got another 7 or 8 years. (Manning) has 2. That’s the final chapter.”

Manning responded Wednesday by downplaying the “jab” or whatever you want to call it. Manning told reporters Brady texted him to clear the air, but that wasn’t needed.

“It wasn’t necessary. I have been roasted. That wasn’t a roast,” he said, according to Troy Renck of The Denver Post.
