New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady doesn’t usually play much in the preseason. But it’s the third game that typically serves as the “dress rehearsal” for the regular season, with starters — including Brady — often playing up to three quarters.

Friday will mark New England’s third preseason game when it travels to take on the Carolina Panthers and their terrific defense on the road. But does Brady really need the tune-up? Is it worth the risk? Should backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo get more playing time?
