Report: Martavis Bryant Suspended Four Games For Violating Substance Abuse Policy

Martavis Bryant just gave fantasy football fans another reason not to hold their drafts early.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday that the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver was suspended four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. According to Schefter, the suspension already is under appeal.

Bryant played in 10 games for the Steelers last season, amassing 549 receiving yards to go with eight touchdowns. He was set to be star receiver Antonio Brown’s backup in 2015.

Bryant adds to a long list of players who are set to miss Sept. 10’s opening night matchup between the Steelers and the New England Patriots. As it stands, quarterback Tom Brady and running back LeGarrette Blount will miss the matchup for the Patriots, while Bryant and running back Le’Veon Bell will be banned from the Steelers. Pittsburgh center Maurkice Pouncey also will be out with a broken ankle.
