The New England Patriots’ receiving corps took a hit Thursday. Patriots wide receiver Brian Tyms left joint practices with the New Orleans Saints with an injury, and judging by reports out of West Virginia, it doesn’t look good.

ESPN.com’s Mike Reiss reported Friday that Tyms suffered a foot injury. That injury could cost Tyms the entire season, Reiss reported.

Tyms had an uneven first season with the Patriots in 2014. He sat out the first four games while serving a suspension, but upon returning he flashed the ability to be a deep-threat receiver. He caught a 43-yard touchdown pass against the Buffalo Bills, but only caught five passes for 82 yards and the one score on the season. Tyms also did special teams work for the Patriots.
