ORIGINAL STORY: Robert Griffin III can’t catch a break.

The Washington Redskins quarterback suffered multiple big hits against the Detroit Lions on Thursday, the last of which led to his exit from the preseason game.

Here is the play that led to his injury.

The Redskins announced Griffin suffered a stinger and was being looked at for a possible concussion. They later announced he would not return to the game.

Griffin’s numbers were not pretty during his short stint on the field. He completed just 2 of 5 passes for 8 yards and suffered three sacks for a loss of 17 yards.

Griffin made headlines early this week for saying he feels like the best quarterback in the NFL. But that’s certainly hard to prove when he’s constantly getting knocked to the ground with minimal help from his offensive line.
