Skip Bayless: ‘I’m Sad For Michael Vick’ Signing With Steelers (Video)

Skip Bayless isn’t sold on Michael Vick signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers placed quarterback Bruce Gradkowski on injured reserve Tuesday, paving the way for Vick to become Ben Roethlisberger’s backup. Bayless is skeptical of the move from Vick’s perspective.

“I’m sad for Michael Vick,” the polarizing ESPN “First Take” personality said Tuesday. “He’s so much better than holding a clipboard. … It’s come to that for Michael Vick?”

Vick, of course, is a four-time Pro Bowl quarterback who’s had some great seasons, especially with the Atlanta Falcons. He’s also 35 years old, though, which might explain his willingness to accept such a job.

Still, Bayless expects more.

“The idea of using Mike Vick as a gadget occasionally, I don’t know, it jars me because it’s beneath his dignity,” Bayless said. “You would think he could go compete for playing time.”

We would?

Anyway, it’s hard to imagine this becoming a big deal unless Big Ben hits the shelf.
