Not all knuckleballs are created equal.

Steven Wright makes a living out of floating knucklers for the Boston Red Sox, yet the unique pitch understandably can be difficult to harness. Some nights are better than others.

Wright’s knuckleball looked lethal early in Wednesday’s game against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. It was dancing all over the place, making it hard for hitters to barrel up the baseball.

The following GIF and video, while representing the smallest of samples (two pitches), show how effective Wright’s knuckleball can be when all is right.
