To say Robbie Maddison is little bit crazy might be an understatement.

The stunt biker is known across the world for giving off an air of fearlessness and defying death with some “you have to see it to believe it” stunts. His latest stunt certainly might be his greatest.

Maddison is making waves — pun very much intended — across the world for having the guts to ride his dirt bike through some of the world’s biggest waves.

In the waters off the coast of Tahiti recently, Maddison took his act to new heights by “surfing” his bike through the waters. The end result is absolutely jaw-dropping.

Believe it or not, one of the world’s greatest daredevils was a little bit nervous — or maybe a lot bit nervous — heading into the stunt.

“I’d become quite terrified, trembling in my boots,” he told Rolling Stone. “But I made my bed and it was time to lie in it.”

Maddison also told Rolling Stone he grew up surfing, so it was an obvious connection to merge the two worlds. He said the bike had to be constantly tweaked in order to get it to ride over the water, and it obviously also required some real talented driving. Even then, he almost was killed by one huge wave.

“I was picked up and thrown, and my bike landed on my back, knocking all the air out of me,” Maddison told Rolling Stone. “It was the most violent ride I’ve ever been on, tumbling beneath the surface in full gear. Over the next four or five minutes, I only had two split-second moments when my head broke the surface and I could take in a fast breath, only to be yanked back down and tumbled with my bike. Everything was going white. I became completely limp and was prepared to take in a full breath of water, when I finally popped up.”

When it was all said and done, though, Maddison lived to see another day — and probably another stunt sooner than later.
