FOXBORO, Mass. — The No. 1 question on the minds of New England Patriots fans Thursday was whether Tom Brady — one day removed from the start of his Deflategate suspension hearing — would play in the Pats’ preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers.

He certainly looked ready to as he took the field Thursday night at Gillette Stadium.

Brady drew raucous cheers from the New England faithful as he and fellow quarterbacks Jimmy Garoppolo and Ryan Lindley took the field to Jay-Z’s “Public Service Announcement.” The song is Brady’s traditional walk-out anthem, but after the offseason the QB has had, its opening line took on new meaning.

“Allow me to reintroduce myself.”

Regardless of Brady’s playing status, the majority of New England’s offensive snaps Thursday should go to Garoppolo, who will start the season under center if Brady’s four-game suspension is not overturned.
