Clay Buchholz has been on the disabled list since July 10, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be returning soon.

Boston Red Sox interim manager Torey Lovullo spoke with the media before Wednesday’s series finale against the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field, and provided the closest thing to an update on the right-handed pitcher he could offer: There isn’t one.

Lovullo did mention that Buchholz will be re-evaluated on Sept. 2 — which marks the six-week point since his platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection following the injury against the New York Yankees — but his status going forward is still to be determined.

Check out more from Lovullo in the video from NESN’s “Red Sox Gameday Live” above.
