Usain Bolt handed Justin Gatlin his first loss in nearly two years Sunday, edging the American by 0.01 seconds in the finals of 100-meter dash at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing.

Bolt, who won gold in the event both the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, finished with a winning time of 9.79 seconds. Gatlin clocked in at 9.80 to take second — his first loss since Sept. 6, 2013.

“Everyone wants to win,” Gatlin told reporters after the race, via SI.com. “I came out here and got nipped at the line by the great Usain.”

Trayvon Bromell of the United States and Andre De Grasse of Canada each finished in 9.911 seconds to share the bronze.
