Vince Wilfork made a promise to his daughter, and he didn’t forget it.

When Wilfork signed with the Houston Texans in the offseason after spending 11 seasons with the New England Patriots, he promised his daughter, Destiny, she could meet Texans defensive end J.J. Watt.

It took a few months, but Wilfork followed through on that promise Saturday.

“One of the reasons I came here was because of my daughter,” Wilfork told ESPN.com’s Tania Ganguli. “She said the only reason she was going to move here is if she got a chance to meet him. I said, ‘OK, well’ and I made that promise some months back. It finally paid off for me right now.”

Bianca Wilfork, Vince’s wife, posted evidence of the meet-and-greet on Instagram.

It appears Wilfork is on the short list for father of the year.
