The Cincinnati Bengals and Oakland Raiders engaged in some Week 1 extracurricular activities.

Tempers flared in the second quarter Sunday when Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones and Raiders rookie wide receiver Amari Cooper got into a post-play scuffle.

Jones, who is known for getting a bit chippy, ripped off Cooper’s helmet and slammed the receiver’s head against it. The officials called Jones for unnecessary roughness, but he wasn’t ejected.

Mike Pereira, former NFL vice president of officiating, was among those left scratching their heads over the non-ejection.

ProFootballTalk reported Monday morning, per a league source, that Jones will be fined for the incident but not suspended.

The Bengals, who defeated the Raiders 33-13, will look to improve to 2-0 on Sunday when they host the San Diego Chargers. Oakland will host the Baltimore Ravens.
