If you want to live like Babe Ruth himself did, you now can do so — assuming you have roughly $1.6 million, of course.

The apartment formerly owned by the New York Yankees legend is on sale in Manhattan’s Upper West Side neighborhood, and the asking price is just under $1.6 million. But if you’re interested, you’d better move fast. The New York Post reported there was an open house over the weekend with about 50 percent perspective buyers.

There’s plenty of history in the obviously redone five-room unit. Ruth lived there in the 1930s with his family.

“Mom and Dad loved to entertain there,” Ruth’s daughter, Julia Ruth Stevens, told the New York Post. “We had a maid and cook, and Dad would always invite Yankees who had been traded and were in town with other teams. He knew they wanted a home-cooked meal (while on the road).”

In addition to that history, it’s a gorgeous place to live.

“Built in 1913, this serene apartment retains many lovely original details, such as gleaming hardwood floors, high ceilings, and mirrored doors,” the listing on Street Easy reads.
