Darius Wade’s season is over.

The Boston College quarterback left Friday night’s 14-0 loss to Florida State in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury. The Eagles later confirmed reports that the injury will sideline Wade for the rest of the season.

It’s a tough break for the sophomore, who finished the season 21-of-42 passing for 232 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in three games. The dual-threat quarterback also ran for 73 yards on 22 carries.

Both Jeff Smith and Troy Flutie saw action at quarterback after Wade’s injury. BC’s next game is Saturday against Northern Illinois at Alumni Stadium.
