Beleskey-Krejci-Pastrnak Trio Highlights Bruins’ Lineup Vs. Capitals

BOSTON — Matt Beleskey will make his Bruins debut Tuesday night at TD Garden, skating as part of a trio that very well could begin the regular season as Boston’s top line.

Beleskey, who signed with Boston over the summer after seven seasons with the Anaheim Ducks, will serve as the B’s first-line left wing against the Washington Capitals, with veteran David Krejci centering the unit and second-year winger David Pastrnak lining up on the right.

None of the three suited up for the Bruins’ preseason opener Sunday night. In fact, just two of the 20 players in Tuesday’s lineup saw action in the B’s 2-0 win over the New Jersey Devils: Alexander Khokhlachev and Brandon DeFazio, who will join 2016 first-round draft pick Zach Senyshyn on the third line against Washington.

Tuesday’s tilt also will be the first audition of the fall for goalies Malcolm Subban and Zane McIntyre, both of whom are competing for the backup job behind starter Tuukka Rask. Each netminder is expected to play roughly half the game, as Jonas Gustavsson and Jeremy Smith did Sunday night.

Here are the lines and defensive pairings for Tuesday’s exhibition:

Matt Beleskey — David Krejci — David Pastrnak
Frank Vatrano — Austin Czarnik — Brian Ferlin
Brandon DeFazio — Alexander Khokhlachev — Zach Senyshyn
Anton Blidh — Chris Kelly — Justin Hickman

Torey Krug — Adam McQuaid
Linus Arnesson — Kevan Miller
Joe Morrow — Chris Casto

Zane McIntyre
Malcolm Subban

** As a way of testing out the NHL’s new overtime format, the teams will conclude the game by playing 3-on-3 for five minutes regardless of the final score.
