Bill Belichick typically isn’t one to celebrate individual accomplishments, but the New England Patriots head coach appreciates NFL history.

So, when Tom Brady threw his 400th touchdown pass Sunday, Belichick congratulated the Patriots quarterback with a handshake on the sideline.

Brady is just the fourth quarterback in NFL history to throw 400 touchdown passes, joining Peyton Manning, Brett Favre and Dan Marino. Belichick said after the Patriots’ 51-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars he’s “really fortunate” to coach Brady.

Brady didn’t directly comment on throwing his 400th touchdown after the game.

“It was a good day,” Brady said, “So it’s fun to be out there. I think everyone enjoyed it. It was a good performance by our offense, a good team win. It was a good week of practice. A lot of guys made plays, so I was happy. It was a great day out there for football.”

Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola caught Brady’s 400th touchdown pass and gave the ball to a fan. The Patriots retrieved the ball, and it will be on display at The Hall at Patriot Place on Monday.
