Boston College’s defense looked like the real deal Friday night. Unfortunately for the Eagles, their offense couldn’t have been much worse.

BC held No. 9 Florida State to two touchdowns and 217 total yards, but the Eagles failed to find the end zone in a 14-0 loss at Alumni Stadium.

The Seminoles (3-0, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) struck quick with a touchdown on their first drive — a 9-yard TD reception by Travis Rudolph from quarterback Everett Golson — but the BC defense was lights out from there. FSU’s other touchdown came on a Jalen Ramsey 36-yard fumble recovery early in the fourth quarter.

Golson was 15 of 24 for 119 yards and one touchdown with zero interceptions. Star running back Dalvin Cook had 54 yards on 15 carries.

Eagles (2-1, 0-1 ACC) quarterback Darius Wade left the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent knee injury. Head coach Steve Addazio said the injury “doesn’t look good” after the game.

BC will look to rebound next Saturday against Northern Illinois, while FSU will get a week off before traveling to Wake Forest on Oct. 3.
