Brett Connolly provided all of the Boston Bruins’ scoring Wednesday night, and he racked up some serious style points in the process.

After beating New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist less than a minute into Boston’s seventh preseason game, Connolly did so again late in the third period. The winger’s first tally was a rather conventional one, but the second had a much higher degree of difficulty.

A slap shot from defenseman Zach Trotman deflected off Lundqvist’s pad and up into the air, and Connolly swung his stick like a baseball bat to hammer it into the net.

The goal, which came after the Bruins had pulled goalie Jonas Gustavsson for an extra attacker, cut Boston’s deficit to one, but Lundqvist stood tall the rest of the way to give New York a 3-2 win.
