The Boston College Eagles will look to extend their 13-game straight-up winning streak against opponents from the Mid-American Conference when they host the Northern Illinois Huskies on Saturday as 4 1/2-point betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Boston College has dominated the MAC since 2002, recording against-the-spread victories in nine of those 13 contests. However, Saturday afternoon’s Huskies vs. Eagles betting matchup at Alumni Stadium marks the first ever clash between these two teams.

The Eagles are coming off a tough 14-0 loss to Florida State, which was ranked No. 9 in the AP Top 25. Boston College handed the Seminoles their first shutout victory on the road since 2003, and failed to cover as 8 1/2-point underdogs.

However, while the offense failed to perform, the defense continued to get the job done, holding the Seminoles to just 217 total yards, and surrendering 20 or fewer points for the fifth time in its past six games.

The Huskies travel to Boston following a strong performance in a 20-13 loss to No. 1 Ohio State, holding the defending national champions to 298 total yards, including a mere 133 combined passing yards from quarterbacks J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones, while forcing five Buckeyes turnovers.

As a result, Northern Illinois claimed an easy ATS win as a heavy 34-point road underdog, improving the Huskies to 6-3 ATS in their last nine, and 4-2 SU and 5-1 ATS in their last six road outings according to the OddsShark College Football Database.

The Huskies have produced mixed results in recent dates with ACC squads, losing SU in their last four on the road, all as betting underdogs, 2-2 ATS.
