David Ortiz Talks About Hall Of Fame Chances After 500th Homer (Video)

It used to be a foregone conclusion that the National Baseball Hall of Fame awaited you when you reach 500 career home runs. However, that no longer seems to be the case.

Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz joined the 500-homer club Saturday during Boston’s 10-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays, and he addressed his Hall of Fame chances after the game.

“I’m going to continue building up numbers,” Ortiz said on “Red Sox Final” after Saturday’s game. “This is one of the points where … not too many players get to accomplish. And I’m just going to continue playing the game, and whenever the time comes, I’ll start putting more attention to that.”
