Eddie George Calls Patriots Cheaters, Gives A Weak Explanation (Video)

Eddie George believes the New England Patriots are cheaters.

Why? Uh, because other people say they are?

The former Tennessee Titans running back talked Thursday on FOX’s “America’s Pregame” about the widespread Patriots cheating rumors but failed to give any examples of such cheating actually occurring.

“Yes, I do (believe the Patriots are cheaters),” George said. “Because through the years, we’ve heard things, stories coming out of New England. And in my personal experience of going up there, our coaches told us that we had to put our playbooks — keep them in your bags when you leave the locker room for warmups, because you didn’t know what was going to happen.”

Was that different from playing elsewhere?

“Absolutely,” George continued. “Other teams would do certain things, but nothing like going into New England. Because you knew that if you left something out, (there was) the possibility it could be used against you later on down the line.”

Hmm, leaving playbooks lying around sounds like it would never been a good idea, no matter what stadium you’re playing in.

As for George’s personal experience, he played at Gillette Stadium just twice in his career. His Titans lost both games — including one in the 2003 divisional round — and George was held to 83 yards on 31 carries.
