When a foul ball lands in the seats at a baseball game, it’s not uncommon to see fans engage in a tug-of-war for the souvenir. If the ball lands in the glove of a player, you probably should leave it alone.

One fan at Dodger Stadium didn’t get that memo.

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez tracked a ball into the stands and caught it for the first out of the fifth inning Monday against the Colorado Rockies. But an overzealous fan who also tracked the baseball wasn’t ready to give up without a fight.

While the look on the fan’s face suggests it might have been his knee-jerk reaction to fight for the ball, it’s still not a good look for an adult to try to rip off a player’s glove over a baseball.

The fan later was ejected, and people cheered as he was escorted out.
