Serena Williams’ shocking loss to Roberta Vinci in the U.S. Open women’s semifinals Friday had many fans searching for answers.
But it didn’t take them long to discover who to blame.
That’d be Canadian rapper Drake, who was in attendance at Flushing Meadows to support Williams, his new love interest. Unfortunately for Serena, Drake has quite the history of supporting front-runners — from John Calipari and Kentucky to LeBron James and the Miami Heat — only to watch them lose when it matters most.
So will Serena end things with Drake after he “cost” her a shot at a calendar Grand Slam? If she does, it appears the rapper will have another athlete waiting for him.
Lolo Jones’ affection for Drake is nothing new, as the former Olympic hurdler always had a crush on the famous rapper.
Lest we think Jones is dissing Williams, though, the 33-year-old tweeted out her admiration for the tennis star.
Glad we cleared that up.
