Jamaal Charles’ night came to an abrupt end Thursday night with the Kansas City Chiefs running back playing the role of the goat.

Charles fumbled twice in the Chiefs’ 31-24 loss to the Denver Broncos on “Thursday Night Football,” with his second mishap proving to be the more costly blunder. The star back coughed up the ball with under a minute to play, and the Broncos returned the fumble for a touchdown to give them the win.

Charles, obviously, was upset after costing his team the game. He went to the sideline to be alone and feel shame, but there’s no hiding in the NFL, especially on a nationally televised game. The cameras found the running back as he slammed his helmet on the bench in furious fashion.

Apparently CBS play-by-play man Jim Nantz couldn’t help himself, as he hit Charles with the burn of the season so far as the cameras showed the dejected Chief.

Ruthless, Jim. Ruthless.
