With the Deutsche Bank Championship in town this weekend, the No. 2 golfer in the world enjoyed an off day at Fenway Park.
Jordan Spieth threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Boston Red Sox’s Tuesday night game against the New York Yankees.
Spieth took some time beforehand to chat with NESN’s Guerin Austin and admitted stepping onto the mound at America’s Most Beloved Ballpark was a dream come true.
“(I’m) very excited,” Spieth said. “This is so much fun. (It’s) the greatest ballpark in the world, and to be able to step on the mound and throw a pitch on it is a dream come true. It’s a dream for my dad come true, too. He wanted me to be a pitcher when I was young, he played college baseball, so it’s cool to have him here.”
