The Cleveland Browns aren’t quite ready to hand the reins to Johnny Football.

The Browns announced Wednesday that Josh McCown has been cleared to play and will get the start Sunday versus the Oakland Raiders. That means Johnny Manziel will head back to the bench after leading the Browns to victory last week against Tennessee.

Manziel entered the game in Week 1 and took over for McCown, who was injured diving toward the end zone. McCown suffered a concussion on the play and wasn’t cleared in time for the Week 2 game with the Titans. Manziel completed eight of 15 passes against the Titans for 172 yards, including a pair of touchdowns. After showing an inclination to run after entering the game against the Jets, Manziel stayed in the pocket against the Titans, rushing just three times for a yard.

Before being concussed, McCown completed five of his eight passes against the Jets for 49 yards.
