Nothing like having a scoring drive nullified by a 100-yard kick return on the ensuing kickoff.
In the fourth quarter of Thursday night’s Clemson-Louisville game, the Tigers were confident they had the Cardinals right where they wanted them. A mid-quarter drive, resultingĀ in a Greg Huegel 27-yard field goal, put Clemson on top 20-10.
But on the ensuing kickoff, LouisvilleĀ wide receiver Traveon Samuel defined the term “untouched” and returned the ball 100 yards for a Cardinals TD.
The return wasn’t the highlight of the play, though. Clemson Tiger Nation’s reaction was.
Fortunately for the Tigers, they went on to win and now are 3-0.
