You’ve got to hand it to the SEC: It has a knack for producing ridiculous football plays.

Saturday night’s showdown in Tuscaloosa between No. 2 Alabama and No. 15 Ole Miss promised to be a doozy after the Rebels shocked the Crimson Tide last season. It was living up to expectations in the third quarter with Ole Miss holding a slim 7-point lead.

Then this happened.

This play could have been so many bad things for Ole Miss: a fumble, a sack, an interception. Instead, quarterback Chad Kelly’s desperation heave miraculously bounced right into the hands of wide receiver Quincy Adeboyejo, who took off for a 66-yard touchdown to put the Rebels up two scores.

The insane touchdown was reminiscent of Auburn’s crazy Hail Mary to stun Georgia in 2013, and appeared to produce a similar reaction inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Ole Miss went on to win 43-37 after an absolutely wild second half to pick up its second consecutive win over the Crimson Tide and first victory at Alabama since 1988.

You can’t make this stuff up.
