FOXBORO, Mass. — New England Patriots fans got their wish: Kenbrell Thompkins is back on the team.

The wide receiver, who recently was cut by the Oakland Raiders, signed to the Patriots practice squad Sunday, according to a source. He already was out at practice wearing No. 15 on Sunday.

Thompkins was with the Patriots throughout the 2013 season. He was cut by the Patriots in October during last season.

He had 32 catches for 466 yards with four touchdowns in his rookie season. He caught just six passes for 53 yards in two games last year.

The Patriots cut 2014 fourth-round draft pick Cameron Fleming from the 53-man roster. The Patriots waived the offensive tackle to make room for defensive tackle Khyri Thornton, whom they claimed off waivers from the Green Bay Packers.

Based on practice, it also appeared the Patriots signed linebackers Xzavier Dickson, Darius Fleming and Brandon King, tight end Asante Cleveland and cornerback Daxton Swanson to the practice squad. The Patriots also signed wideout Nathan Palmer to the practice squad, according to his agent, Andy Simms.
