Radio Host’s Roger Goodell Comments Show Deflategate Furor Gone Awry (Video)

The displeasure over Deflategate reached a whole new level Wednesday night.

Kirk Minihane, co-host on WEEI Radio’s “Dennis and Callahan” show, made a striking comment on CSNNE when asked how NFL commissioner Roger Goodell could be ousted from his job, in light of Tom Brady’s controversial four-game suspension.

Those comments might have been tongue-in-cheek or a badly missed attempt at humor, but it caused quite a storm on Twitter. After all, Minihane was suspended in June for an on-air argument with colleague Christian Fauria. Minihane also was suspended for his controversial statements about FOX’s Erin Andrews following her questions for Adam Wainwright at the 2014 MLB All-Star Game.

Minihane’s Goodell comments are just another example of how ridiculous Deflategate has become more than seven months after that fateful AFC Championship Game. U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman can’t rule soon enough.

UPDATE (Thursday, 9:50 a.m. ET): Minihane explained shortly after his Goodell comments that he was joking and reinterated that point on Thursday morning’s “Dennis and Callahan” show.
