Red Sox Should Consider Re-Signing Reinvented Rich Hill, Might Have Competition (Video)

If his first two starts were any indication, Rich Hill should be a strong candidate to be re-signed by the Boston Red Sox.

The 35-year-old tossed back-to-back impressive starts — his first in six years — this month, and has reinvented his delivery, adding an ability to throw out of a more side-armed slot and mixing in a wider variety of pitches.

Former Red Sox pitcher and current NESN analyst Tim Wakefield discussed Hill’s resurgence on “Red Sox First Pitch” and suggested that Boston should seriously consider giving Hill a new contract when the season ends. One road block standing in the way though: Every other team. Several scouts reportedly were in attendance Sunday, as Hill struck out 10 Toronto Blue Jays.

Check out Wakefield’s thoughts in the video above.
