It seems that anyone who doesn’t have a Tom Brady jersey is making sure they grab themselves a No. 12.
ESPN.com reported Thursday that the New England Patriots quarterback continues to have the NFL’s top-selling jersey. According to the report, Brady’s jersey sold more than any other player through the first two weeks of the NFL season.
Patriots spokesman Stacey James told ESPN.com that sales of Brady merchandise at the Patriots’ team store this season has been “uncharacteristically high.”
Of course, it’s not a huge surprise Brady gear is selling so well. Patriots fans rallied together as Brady engaged in the Deflategate war with the NFL during the offseason. So despite the fact that Brady’s been in the league for a decade and a half, and despite the fact the Patriots haven’t really changed their jerseys much since he was drafted, Brady jerseys are as popular as ever.
In addition, Brady’s Under Armour products are flying off the shelves. The “199” shirts — used to indicate the pick Brady was in the 2000 NFL Draft and based on a recent commercial — immediately sold out.
