Will Tom Brady win his third career MVP award this season? Who knows? But it’s a lot easier to be the best player in the league when you’re actually on the field.

U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman confirmed that’d be the case Thursday when he ruled to nullify the New England Patriots quarterback’s four-game suspension for Brady’s role in Deflategate, making Brady eligible for every game this season.

Berman’s decision obviously has had a ripple effect, as the Patriots’ odds to make the postseason improved dramatically Thursday. But the odds on Brady’s personal achievements also have spiked.

The 38-year-old quarterback now is listed at 10-1 odds to win the NFL MVP award by Odds Shark, a dramatic leap from his 20-1 odds before Judge Berman’s ruling. Brady also had 20-1 odds to finish as the NFL’s passing leader prior to Thursday’s news, but that number has moved to 12-1.

Brady obviously would like to accomplish those goals, but we’re guessing his eyes are on the ultimate prize: another Super Bowl victory. Fortunately for Tom, his return has bumped up New England’s odds to repeat from 10-1 to 9-1.

Brady and Co.’s quest for a fifth title will start Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Official betting lines haven’t been released yet, but New England could be favored by as much as seven points after getting just 2.5 points earlier this offseason.
