Clay Buchholz has been on the disabled list since July 11 with a right elbow strain, but the Boston Red Sox right-hander is working his way back.
Buchholz practiced throwing Friday, and he reported no setbacks.
“It’s piece by piece with him,” interim manager Torey Lovullo said on “Red Sox Gameday Live” before Boston played the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday. “We just have to make sure he gets out to 120 and then we can get him on the mound and see where he’s at. I don’t want to say that we are going to see him, but he’s progressing very, very well.”
