The result was as one-sided as the series itself, as Brazil overran Team USA and coasted to victory. The U.S. never imposed itself on the game and ultimately suffered from a lack of quality and belief against a superior opponent. The outcome extends Brazil’s dominance over Team USA.

Luiz partially shielded Grohe, who dived too late to prevent Williams’ swerving shot from entering the goal.

The goal came from a counter-attack. Fabinho did the hard running on the right. Lucas passed to Rafhinha, who beat Ream with one touch and Guzan with his next.
63rd minute, 2-0 Brazil: Dunga makes two more changes, as Rafinha and Lucas enter for Douglas Costa and Lucas Lima.
57th minute, 2-0 Brazil: Klinsmann throws Morris into the fray. Morris replaces Altidore, who was a missing man for most of the hour he played.
55th minute, 2-0 Brazil: The referee cautions Williams for tripping Lima from behind.
53rd minute, 2-0 Brazil: Orozco is cautioned for a foul on Costa.
51st minute, 2-0 Brazil: Neymar converts the spot-kick. Guzan reached Neymar’s shot with his fingertips but couldn’t keep it out of the goal.
50th minute, 1-0 Brazil: Neymar makes an instant impact and earns a penalty kick for Brazil. Cameron tripped the Brazil forward inside the penalty area.

Brazil made two substitutions at halftime. Neymar replaced Willian. Roberto Firmino replaced Hulk.
The U.S. replaced Zardes with Wood.

The fans in attendance witnessed one-way traffic, as Brazil controlled play and scored the only goal in the first half. The U.S. started brightly but faded quickly. Hulk’s goal then started a passage in which Brazil controlled possession and threatened on the counter-attack. The U.S. only could absorb the pressure and hope Guzan stood firm in goal.
Team USA must gain a foothold in the game if it is to repeat its second-half heroics of recent outings.

42nd minute, 1-0 Brazil: Marcelo tries to beat Guzan with a shot from a tight angle, but the U.S. goalkeeper bats out the shot for a corner kick.
36th minute, 1-0 Brazil: Team USA makes a substitution, replacing Bedoya with Danny Williams, who probably feels more at home as a defensive midfielder.
35th minute, 1-0 Brazil: Orozco heads Fabinho’s deflected shot out of the goal-mouth.
33rd minute, 1-0 Brazil: The U.S. remains competitive, but Brazil is exerting increasing control over the proceedings with its quick passing and darting runs on the flanks. The Americans are one step behind the play in most occasions.
28th minute, 1-0 Brazil: Yedlin cuts a pass back to Bradley, who dribbles forward into Brazil’s penalty area and shoots on goal. Grohe saves Bradley’s shot.
26th minute, 1-0 Brazil: Costa breaks forward on the counter-attack, beats Cameron on the dribble and shoots on goal, but Guzan dives to his right and saves his effort.
23rd minute, 1-0 Brazil: Dunga makes an early substitution, replacing Miranda with Marquinhos in central defense.
18th minute, 1-0 Brazil: There’s a brief lull in the action, as Costa receives treatment on a facial wound he suffered in a collision.
12th minute, 1-0 Brazil: Yedlin takes the ball to the by-line and crosses to Altidore, but the U.S. striker can’t hit his shot cleanly, and Grohe collects it.
Ninth minute, 1-0 Brazil: Hulk fires home the opener for Brazil.
Willian charged down the left side of the U.S. defense and played a cross, which hit the crossbar and bounced kindly to Hulk, who eluded Yedlin before beating Guzan from close range.
Sixth minute, 0-0: Marcelo shoots over Guzan’s goal.
Fourth minute, 0-0: The United States has shown more urgency in the opening minutes and managed to push play into Brazil’s half on a few occasions. The U.S. hasn’t created any scoring chances from its possession, but it is showing it’s here to compete.
Kickoff: USA-Brazil is underway at Gillette Stadium.
Pregame: The teams are in, and there’s not much news to report from the coaches’ selections.
Michael Bradley missed Friday’s win over Peru in order to play an important league game for his club, Toronto FC. The U.S. captain and central midfielder returns to the starting lineup. Wood drops to the bench.
Brazil coach Dunga has chosen Hulk to lead his forward line. There’s no room for Neymar in the first XI. Neymar was unhappy about playing just 10 minutes Saturday against Costa Rica. He could see more time against the United States, but a 90-minute stint is out of the question.
Three players with local ties are starting for Team USA.
John Brooks tweaked his hamstring in practice and won’t play against Brazil.

The United States faces Brazil on Tuesday night at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. The international exhibition game presents the teams a final chance to fine-tune themselves one month before some key contests on their respective calendars.
U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann knows the scale of the challenge that his team faces. Brazil has won five world championships and all but one of the 17 games it has played against the United States, but Klinsmann has a habit of leading the Americans to victory against former world-beaters.
