The New York Mets appeared to have Game 1 of the World Series just about wrapped up Tuesday night, but Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon had different plans.

The Mets turned to closer Jeurys Familia in the bottom of the ninth inning, but he made a crucial mistake to Gordon, who belted a 428-foot home run to center field to send the game to extra innings.
