Any soccer player can head the ball when it comes his or her way, but few can do it as regularly and effectively as Christian Benteke can.

Benteke scored the opening goal in Liverpool’s Premier League draw with Southampton on Sunday at Anfield. The Belgian demonstrated both his incredible leap and heading accuracy in nodding James Milner’s cross past goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg in the 77th minute.

Benteke’s goal was just his second of 2015-16, but his connection with Milner’s perfect delivery and goal-scoring record suggest more will follow.

Liverpool has struggled to attack with fluidity this season — first under former manager Brendan Rodgers and now current boss Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool might improve when key players like Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge return and new ideas from Klopp and his staff take root, but both will require time and patience.

But Liverpool’s schedule is unforgiving, as it must play four more games in the next two weeks.

Since time waits for no man, and Benteke out-heads everyone, the best solution to Liverpool’s current woes probably would be to target the towering striker and let him work his wonders.
